Baseball Recap: Three Rivers Finds Home Field Redemption Against Vicksburg

There's no place like home for Three Rivers, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Vicksburg Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Kaleb Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Three Rivers is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Three Rivers' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Young, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Peyton Hradsky also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win got Three Rivers back to even at 3-3. As for Vicksburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Three Rivers beat the Bulldogs by a score of 6-2 later that day.
