Soccer Recap: The Villages Charter Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact The Villages Charter can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, the Buffalo couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Dylan Leonnor, who's now up to two this season.

The Villages Charter's loss dropped their record down to 9-8-1. As for Lake Highland Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-4-2 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Villages Charter will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. Lake Highland Prep also won't see the pitch for a while: their next game is against King at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
