Baseball Game Preview: High Point Christian Academy Cougars vs. Spencerport Rangers

The High Point Christian Academy Cougars will face off against the Spencerport Rangers at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Tuesday. High Point Christian Academy walked away with a 12-8 victory over Carmel Christian. High Point Christian Academy hasn't had any issues with Carmel Christian recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

TY HAYES looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Spencerport put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Bishop Timon-St. Jude as they made off with a 14-4 victory.

Braxton Mann made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Andrew Lamberton was a standout: he scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Collin Bates was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

Spencerport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Timon-St. Jude only posted a batting average of .267.

Spencerport's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for High Point Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
