Softball Recap: Woodland Falls Short of Port Angeles in the Playoffs

Woodland and Port Angeles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Woodland had to settle for second. They came up short against the Roughriders, falling 8-1. The Beavers were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the five matches prior), but the Roughriders' pitcher proved too tough.

Woodland's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8. As for Port Angeles, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2-1.

Woodland has already played their next contest (against Cedarcrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Port Angeles, they will take on Mark Morris at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Monarchs' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Roughriders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
