Basketball Recap: Ursuline Academy Takes a Loss

Ursuline Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Council Rock South Golden Hawks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Raiders came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fourth in Delaware, while the Golden Hawks are ranked 46th in Pennsylvania).

Ursuline Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Council Rock South, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Ursuline Academy will host Smyrna at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Council Rock South, they will challenge Council Rock North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Council Rock North: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Council Rock South has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road.
