North Lakes Academy took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against St. Croix Prep, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Lions 9-8 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Avery Kelsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Kelsey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, North Lakes Academy got a big performance out of Payge Lindgren, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brenna Theisen, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
