Basketball Game Preview: Griswold Tigers vs. Essex Trojans

After both having extra time off, the Griswold Tigers and the Essex Trojans will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another on Monday.

Two weeks ago, Griswold ended up a good deal behind Missouri Valley and lost 63-47. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Big Reds: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Essex had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Heartland Christian two weeks ago.

Griswold now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Essex, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-7.

Griswold came up short against Essex when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 65-55. Can Griswold avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
