Basketball Recap: Highland Huskies vs. Strasburg Indians
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Highland can now relate to. They were beaten by the Strasburg Indians 75-43 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.
Highland lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was John Bingley, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points. What's more, he also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Morgan, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in eight consecutive games.
Strasburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyce Bollers, who shot 46% from the field en route to 19 points and six assists. The matchup was Bollers' fourth in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Hopwood, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 18 points and three steals.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Strasburg, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-4.
