Soccer Game Preview: Ponderosa vs. Valley

The Ponderosa Bruins will take on the Valley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ponderosa comes in on three and Valley on ten.

Ponderosa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over East Union. Given the Bruins' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Lancers are ranked 432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ponderosa hit East Union with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Rocco Stroeve, Emmett Clark, and Sebastian Pacheco.

Meanwhile, Valley kept a clean sheet against Sierra on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Timberwolves. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by three goals or more this season.

Valley's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those ten matches. As for Ponderosa, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
