Baseball Recap: Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints vs. Malvern Hornets

Tuscarawas Central Catholic had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-11 to make it 15. They fell 5-0 to the Malvern Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 on Monday.

As for Malvern, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games.

For Malvern's part, not much got past Jared Witherow, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Tuscarawas Central Catholic off the board. Witherow has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Malvern let Darnell Jackson and Cameron Good run wild. Jackson went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Good went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
