Softball Recap: St. Charles East Takes a Loss

Glenbard North hit St. Charles East with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Fighting Saints fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Fighting Saints have suffered since June 1, 2024.

Makayla Van Dinther spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Addison Wolf made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Hayden Sujack was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

St. Charles East's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Glenbard North, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

Coming up, St. Charles East will challenge Libertyville at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Saints will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Glenbard North, they will take on Wheaton-Warrenville South at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
