Volleyball Recap: Rancho Comes Up Short

Rancho and Sierra Vista squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Rancho had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Mountain Lions. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-19.

Marian Moreno paced Rancho's offense, picking up eight kills. Moreno got some help from Layla Driscoll and her 13 assists. Moreno was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Sierra Vista found their leader in freshman Lina Yang, who had nine digs and one assist. Jaidyn Moliga also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Sierra Vista, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-12.

Rancho does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sierra Vista, after both having extra time off, they and Mojave will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
