The Woodside Wildcats will face off against the Soquel Knights on Tuesday. Woodside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Soquel's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Woodside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Carmel, sneaking past 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Hannah Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mo Overbey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Soquel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against Menlo-Atherton on Saturday as they made off with a 10-3 victory. Considering the Knights have won 14 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Kiyomi Dunlap made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Dunlap was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Soquel let Sophia Kilby and Eliza Stevens run wild. Kilby went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Stevens went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Katie Niizawa, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
Soquel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Menlo-Atherton only posted an OBP of .367.
Woodside's record now sits at 16-9. As for Soquel, their record is now 19-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Woodside has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Soquel struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
