California has gone a perfect 10-0 against El Rancho recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Condors will look to defend their home field against the Dons at 3:15 p.m. California's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so El Rancho's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, California got the win against Santa Fe by a conclusive 7-1. Considering the Condors have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Alexis Salas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Mia Martinez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Salido, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, El Rancho's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Serna.
Noelie Guerrero made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lesly Valdez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
California pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for El Rancho, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. California hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like El Rancho struggles in that department as they've averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
