Flag Football Recap: Fountain-Fort Carson Takes a Loss

Fountain-Fort Carson fell victim to The Classical Academy and their airtight defense on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Titans and fell 31-0. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado flag football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Titans are ranked seventh).

Fountain-Fort Carson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jocelyn Kohomes and Grayce Jacobs.

A big part of The Classical Academy's win came down to the chemistry between Kelsey Peterson and her top target Reagan Harter. Peterson threw for 224 yards and five touchdowns while Harter picked up 129 receiving yards and one TD. Those 129 receiving yards gave Harter a new career-high.

Fountain-Fort Carson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for The Classical Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Fountain-Fort Carson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-14 win against The Vanguard School on the 6th. As for The Classical Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 20-0 victory against Palmer on the 7th.
