Soccer Game Preview: Little Village vs. Chicago Washington

The Little Village Phoenix are taking a road trip to face off against the Chicago Washington Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Little Village's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Little Village is headed into the contest having not lost since September 2 and will look to keep things rolling. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Phoenix who were credited with the win on Wednesday. Little Village got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Whitney Young's three.

Chicago Washington will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Monday, then bounced right back against Westinghouse on Thursday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 4-1 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Chicago Washington's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

The win made it two in a row for Chicago Washington and bumps their season record up to 5-10-2. As for Little Village, their record is now 6-1-4.

Little Village suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Chicago Washington in their previous meeting back in August of 2023. Can the Phoenix avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
