Volleyball Recap: Van Vandals vs. Neches Tigers
Van was the 3-2 winner over Neches when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Van Vandals lost 3-0 to the Neches Tigers on Tuesday.
Van was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-21.
Kayla White paced Van's offense, picking up ten kills. White got some help from
Keeley Walker and her 18 assists. White also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with
Mahayla Mckinney, racking up two apiece.
Van's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-13. As for Neches, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 22 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 33-8 record this season.
