Game recap: Monroe High School Football Team takes down West Stokes

MONROE, N.C. - Monroe (N.C.) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 34-15 victory over West Stokes (King, N.C.) on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Tre'Shun Wynn in the first quarter, the Redhawks led 20-8 at the half.

Monroe saw its 12-point halftime lead fall to five entering the fourth.

The Wildcats came in allowing just 14.3 points per game this season. West Stokes struggled against Monroe's offense, which entered the game scoring 34.8 points per game. The Redhawks had given up an average of 12.3 points prior to the contest. The 15 points that WS ended with were well below its average of 22.8 coming into the game.

The loss comes after West Stokes defeated East Davidson 36-13 last week. The loss broke West Stokes' two-game winning streak.
