Football Recap: Noah Koza Key Part of Team Effort in Patriots Win

Burncoat won the last time they faced St. Paul and things went their way on Saturday too. The Patriots enjoyed a cozy 27-13 victory over the Knights. The Patriots' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Burncoat's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noah Koza led the charge by throwing for 129 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Koza's passing game has become a key predictor of the Patriots' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise. Kaleb Casey was another key player, picking up 34 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Burncoat's run defense was locked in: St. Paul could only muster 3.1 yards per carry. The Patriots' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.1.

The win made it two in a row for Burncoat and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 19 points in those games. As for St. Paul, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Burncoat will venture away from home to face off against Blackstone-Millville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Paul, they will head out to challenge Leicester at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
