Volleyball Recap: Leyton Warriors vs. Garden County Eagles

Leyton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Garden County Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-13.

Aspen Snyder paced Leyton's offense, picking up two kills. Snyder got some help from Macey Roelle and her five assists.

Garden County can attribute much of their success to Ridglyn Stanczyk, who had nine kills and six digs. Stanczyk has been hot recently, having posted six or more kills the last four times she's played. Kenley Dehning was another key player, getting ten digs.

Leyton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-7. As for Garden County, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Leyton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Bayard on the 23rd. As for Garden County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Morrill on the 25th.
