Softball Recap: Reed Wins Going Away Against Trabuco Hills

Reed made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Trabuco Hills, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Reed put the hurt on Trabuco Hills with a sharp 11-1 victory on Friday. Considering the Raiders have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kehaulani Tambaoan made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tiare Kanae, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Breanna Staats was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Reed kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Reed's record is now 6-2. As for Trabuco Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Reed will challenge Bingham at 11:40 a.m. on Friday. Bingham's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Reed's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Trabuco Hills, they will take on Lehi at 9:50 a.m. on Friday. Trabuco Hills' pitchers better be ready for this one: Lehi has averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
