Preview: Montgomery Catholic Knights vs. West Blocton Tigers
After each having a week off, The Montgomery Catholic Knights and the West Blocton Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Montgomery Catholic will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Montgomery Catholic was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 27-14 win over Andalusia.
Caleb Mccreary was his usual excellent self, rushing for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for nine yards and a touchdown. Mccreary was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Josh Griffin was another key contributor, rushing for 140 yards.
West Blocton fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 35-16 victory over Dallas County last Friday.
Their wins bumped Montgomery Catholic to 10-0 and West Blocton to 6-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Montgomery Catholic has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 401.4 total yards per game. It's a different story for West Blocton, though, as they've been averaging only 58.7 per game. Will Montgomery Catholic be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will West Blocton flip the ?
