New London and Putnam are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Whalers will welcome the Clippers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. New London comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

New London couldn't beat Harvard Ellis Tech on Tuesday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the fourth inning. The Whalers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 20-9 to the Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Putnam was able to grind out a solid win over Ellis RVT on Wednesday, taking the game 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Clippers.

Aubrey Paquette spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hailey Summers, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Ayla Daniels was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

The victory got Putnam back to even at 4-4. As for New London, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
