Charlotte Catholic faced Charlotte Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 16-7 win over the Knights. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Knights on their field since August 21, 2015.

Garrett Nowlan had a dynamite game, rushing for 127 yards and one TD, while also picking up 38 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Charlotte Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 213 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlotte Christian only rushed for 34 rushing yards.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All those points came courtesy of Aidan Flynn: he added nine points with three field goals and another on an extra-point kick.
