Navasota is 0-10 against Caldwell since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Navasota Rattlers will be playing at home against the Caldwell Hornets at 7:00 p.m.

Navasota is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Giddings. Rattlers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Buffaloes since on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Caldwell made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bellville on Tuesday. Caldwell was the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over Bellville.

Samone Clark made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Brynn Morton was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Jaelyn Gest was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Caldwell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post 11 or more hits.

Caldwell has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Navasota's loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
