Softball Recap: Northern Bedford County's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Northern Bedford County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Tussey Mountain Titans by a score of 4-0. The Panthers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matches.

Mylee Mitchell made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 20 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Mitchell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Helsel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Northern Bedford County's record now sits at 9-7. As for Tussey Mountain, they moved to 8-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northern Bedford County will face off against Claysburg-Kimmel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tussey Mountain, they will take on Everett at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
