Football Recap: Bruceville-Eddy Eagles vs. Meridian Yellowjackets
Bruceville-Eddy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Meridian Yellowjackets as the Bruceville-Eddy Eagles made off with a 28-5 victory.
Bruceville-Eddy can attribute much of their success to Jack Dockstader, who threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown. Tyrrell Horne was in the mix as well, providing Bruceville-Eddy with two receiving touchdowns touchdowns.
Bruceville-Eddy wouldn't let Meridian keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Willie Wilson, Ryan Holmes, and Kadyn Rape picked up one apiece. Wilson's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making seven total tackles.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bruceville-Eddy will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Bartlett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Meridian, they will host Cross Roads at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
