After both having extra time off, the D.C. Everest Evergreens and the Eau Claire North Huskies will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eau Claire North took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on D.C. Everest, who comes in off a win.
D.C. Everest took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Wausau East as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Evergreens in their matchups with the Lumberjacks: they've now won eight in a row.
While D.C. Everest won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22, 25-20.

Lilly Peterson was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 22 digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Eau Claire North lost 3-0 to River Falls on Monday. The Huskies have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-10, 25-19.
D.C. Everest will need to focus on slowing down Toni Woodruff, one of several Eau Claire North players who made an impact when they last played. She had 16 assists and eight digs.
Eau Claire North's loss dropped their record down to 15-18. As for D.C. Everest, the win got them back to even at 16-16.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: D.C. Everest has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Eau Claire North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
