Recap: Power Pirates vs. Lincoln Lynx
After flying high against the North Toole County Refiners last Thursday, the Power Pirates came back down to earth. Power ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-35 walloping at the hands of Lincoln on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Power can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Lincoln is ranked 29th).
Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayden Riddle out in front who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Riddle also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Dylan Jakushak, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Power has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Lincoln, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Power is on the road again on Monday and plays Dutton-Brady on February 5th. Dutton-Brady will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Power surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to square off against Drummond at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Drummond is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
