Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mesquite). Everything went their way against the ALA - Ironwood Warriors on Saturday as the Mesquite Wildcats made off with a 22-6 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Zoe Cuevas made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Cuevas was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

In other batting news, Olivia Romans was incredible, going 5-for-6 with four runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season. Jasmine Jaramillo was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Mesquite kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Mesquite now has a winning record of 3-2. As for ALA - Ironwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
