Basketball Recap: Josie Myers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crimson Cliffs over Pine View

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Crimson Cliffs can now relate to. They took a hard 52-38 fall against the Pine View Panthers on Tuesday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 48-46.

Crimson Cliffs' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josie Myers, who posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and five blocks. Myers is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Jayda Alofipo was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Pine View was led to victory by Reese Gustin and Ella Fiefia. Gustin put up 18 points and four steals, while Fiefia dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. What's more, Fiefia also racked up six assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aniva Seve, who had seven points.

Crimson Cliffs' defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Pine View, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.

Crimson Cliffs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pine View, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-34 loss against Payson on the 14th.
