Volleyball Recap: Futures Takes a Loss

Futures lost against Encina back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-15, 25-18.

Encina can attribute much of their success to Yoel Calleja, who had three digs and one block. Calleja is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 15 games he's played. Youssef Slekh was another key player, getting 11 digs and one assist.

Futures' loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Encina, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-6.

Futures will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Victory Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Encina, they will be taking part in a tournament against Leroy Greene Academy at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
