Baseball Recap: Hampton Roads Academy Comes Up Short

Hampton Roads Academy was the 9-0 winner over Christchurch School when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Navigators lost 13-7 to the Seahorses on Wednesday.

George Kokolis was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Graham Hutchens was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Aiden Parks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hampton Roads Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Christchurch School, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-13.

Coincidentally, Hampton Roads Academy and Christchurch School will both be playing Isle of Wight Academy the next time they take the field. The Navigators will head out to face the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Seahorses will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
