Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Hurricanes vs. Freedom Patriots

Liberty has gone 9-1 against Freedom recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Sunday. The Hurricanes will be playing at home against the Patriots at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Liberty is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against East Stroudsburg South by a score of 10-5. The win continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won seven in a row.

Liam Fitzpatrick looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Justin Frey was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Freedom, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Emmaus on Saturday by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Matt Heineman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Santiago Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Ryan Kullman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Freedom, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

Liberty skirted past Freedom 3-2 in their previous matchup on May 7th. Do the Hurricanes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
