Volleyball Recap: Carney-Nadeau Wolves vs. Stephenson Eagles
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Forest Park, Carney-Nadeau was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Stephenson Eagles out 3-2. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Carney-Nadeau was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (104-97), but they still managed to win. After all that action, the final score was 18-25, 25-22, 13-25, 26-24, 15-8.
Despite the loss, Stephenson still got an impressive performance from Jazmyn Havelka, who had 52 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Havelka has posted since back in October of 2023.
Carney-Nadeau now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Stephenson, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carney-Nadeau will have plenty of time to enjoy the win as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Bark River-Harris at 7:30 p.m. on September 24th. As for Stephenson, they will challenge Rapid River at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Stephenson is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
