Volleyball Recap: Centennial Gets the Win

Centennial hadn't done well against Sierra Grande recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Centennial walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 16-25, 25-15, 25-17.

Reina Aguilera paced Centennial's offense, picking up 14 kills. Aguilera got some help from Mariah Portillo and her 12 assists. Finally, Aguilera was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high eight blocks.

The victory made it two in a row for Centennial and bumps their season record up to 6-10. As for Sierra Grande, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Centennial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Antonito on the 24th. As for Sierra Grande, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Creede on the 23rd.
