Softball Recap: Ralls' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Ralls's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Olton Mustangs a 21-0 shutout. Considering the Jackrabbits have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maria Zavala and Mercedez Alcala did most of the damage at the plate: Zavala went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Alcala scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Zavala has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Adyson Bartlett, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Ralls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ralls moved to 6-10-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Olton, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Ralls will have a chance to go back-to-back against Olton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
