Football Recap: Rancocas Valley Starts off Right with Win over Millville

Rancocas Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past the Millville Thunderbolts with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 33-14. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Red Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Thunderbolts are ranked ninth).

Sayvien Adams went supernova, rushing for 89 yards and one score on only nine carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Adams' aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Michael McQueen, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Rancocas Valley's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by David Ogunsola and Michael Beasley, who racked up four sacks between them.

Coming up, Rancocas Valley will face off against Pleasantville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Millville, they will square off against Atlantic City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
