Softball Game Preview: Louise Hornets vs. Flatonia Bulldogs

Louise hasn't had much luck against Flatonia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hornets are taking a road trip to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Louise has given up an average of 18.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Louise fell victim to Shiner and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Comanches, falling 18-0. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, while Flatonia put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Bloomington. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Bobcats/Lady Cats. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Allie Uzzell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sadie Noska, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3.

Flatonia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Flatonia's record now sits at 9-7-1. As for Louise, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Louise suffered a grim 21-2 defeat to Flatonia when the teams last played back in March. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
