Softball Recap: Lowell Devils vs. Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs
Umpqua Valley Christian hit Lowell with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Devils lost 12-2 to the Monarchs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monarchs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-9 back in April.
Maddy Thurman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
Lowell's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Lowell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Illinois Valley at 4:30 p.m.
