Sierra Canyon extended the longest winning streak in Alpha this week by beating Marshall, 35-20. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Sierra Canyon's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Andre Nunez threw for 111 and one touchdown and Brian Tucker had 68 yards receiving. On the ground Xavier Menifield chipped in 150 yards. Blade Brady helped Sierra Canyon's passing attack out by catching one ball for 22 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Nunez and Menifield Jon Ellinghouse's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Nunez leads the league in passing with 973 yards, while Menifield has rushed for 726 yards this season. Brentwood School's Garrett Swanky leads the league in receiving yards with 477 on 31 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Viewpoint takes on the Trailblazers. At the moment, the Patriots are in sixth, while Sierra Canyon is in first.
Windward made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,734 from 7,811.
