Basketball Recap: Bear Creek Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Bear Creek gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Castle View Sabercats 64-30. With the Bears ahead 35-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Jacob Williams was nothing short of spectacular: he shot 64% from the field on his way to 18 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Matthew Hegerle, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Bear Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Castle View lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carson Aikin, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and three steals. Ethan Joiner was another key player, putting up five points.

Coming up, Bear Creek will be playing at home against D'Evelyn at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Castle View, they have already played their next contest, a 56-42 victory against Fort Collins on the 3rd.
