Softball Game Preview: Mansfield Lions vs. Dora Falcons

The Mansfield Lions will take on the Dora Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Mansfield fell victim to Norwood and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 14-0 to the Pirates. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Dora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Liberty, falling 11-1.

Dora's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Mansfield, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Everything went Mansfield's way against Dora in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Mansfield made off with a 23-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
