Softball Recap: Aptos Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Aptos had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the Harbor Pirates with a sharp 16-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 on Thursday.

Aptos got a massive performance out of Emma Burgueno, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Jordan Zimmer was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Aptos' win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Harbor, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
