Baseball Game Preview: Kennedy Crusaders vs. Little Village Phoenix

For the second straight game, Kennedy will face off against Little Village. The Crusaders will host the Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kennedy has eight straight wins, Little Village has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Kennedy came out on top against Little Village on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Phoenix with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Israel Roa and Mason Rychetsky did most of the damage at the plate: Roa went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Rychetsky went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Rychetsky a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Reyes, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Kennedy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Little Village, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
