Baseball Game Preview: Tomball Kings Homeschool vs. Bo Porter Academy Royals

For the second week in a row, Tomball Kings is taking on Bo Porter Academy. The Homeschool will host the Royals at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Tomball Kings is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Tomball Kings took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Bo Porter Academy. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Homeschool considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Asher Chapa was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Tomball Kings: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 12-16-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Bell, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tomball Kings kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 12-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Tomball Kings is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-16-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bo Porter Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
