After a string of eight wins, Algoma Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to the West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science Eagles. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 83-57.

When it comes to explaining why Algoma Christian lost, don't look at Lucas Bouma. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 26 on his way to 32 points along with six boards and four steals. Bouma continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rhys Kehoe, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Marx Occes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science, going 11 of 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Occes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played. Nehemiah Occes was another key player, going 9 for 13 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Algoma Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2. As for West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Algoma Christian has already played their next match, a 70-30 win against Heritage Christian Academy on the 30th. As for West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-55 loss against Fellowship Baptist Academy on the 31st.
