Football Game Preview: Arkansas Christian Academy Knights vs. Destiny Christian Wildcats

Arkansas Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Destiny Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights will face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Arkansas Christian Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Unity Christian Academy, who was ranked 19th in their home state at the time (Arkansas Christian Academy was ranked 13th). The Knights simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Soldiers 60-12. The victory was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, Destiny Christian was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Cordell 46-8. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-0.

Arkansas Christian Academy better keep an eye on A'Maurie Rusler. He was instrumental in Destiny Christian's win, rushing for 325 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Those 325 rushing yards gave Rusler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincy Jones, who rushed for 45 yards and one score.

Destiny Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 614 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 304 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests.

Destiny Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Brett Thresher. Destiny Christian got some further help from Levi McCutchan: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made four total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Arkansas Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Destiny Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Arkansas Christian Academy lost to Destiny Christian on the road by a decisive 15-0 margin when the teams last played back in September of 2019. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
