Baseball Recap: Walsingham Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After flying high against Norfolk Collegiate on Thursday, Walsingham Academy came back down to earth. The Trojans fell just short of the Benedictine Cadets by a score of 11-10 on Friday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Trojans, who until this contest were averaging 3.08 runs allowed.

Chandler Howlett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Guntherberg, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

With the defeat, Walsingham Academy broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-9-1. As for Benedictine, their win bumped their record up to 9-14-1.

As for Benedictine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Flint Hill on the 3rd.
