Softball Recap: Tulare Union Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Tulare Union came out on top against Bakersfield Christian on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Tribe took their game against the Eagles 7-4. That's two games straight that the Tribe have won by exactly three runs.

Jiannah Freitas made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaksyn Freitas, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Aliyah Cardenas also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Tulare Union hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 4-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win was the third in a row for Tulare Union, bringing their record up to 5-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bakersfield Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12-1.
